A suspected shoplifter who was stopped by Police in Paisley was found to be carrying a knife and drugs.
The stop and search happened on Paisley High Street at around 5pm on Tuesday. A man was found to be in possession of a lock back knife and a quantity of illegal drugs.
He was arrested by officers and was expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
Inspector Tracy Harkins from Paisley Police Office, said: “We have a number of extra patrols, including plain clothes officers deployed within the Town Centre area as part of our festive plan.
“This was excellent work by the local officers who spotted the male acting suspiciously, their vigilance has ensured that a potentially lethal weapon has been removed from the streets and a substantial quantity of drugs removed from circulation.”
