In 2010 a Victorian Crypt was found they had permission to exhume the bodies. Tesco company.
Only two streets in Linwood, Scotland Bridge and Napier and at the junction a crypt was found.
This may or may not be big!! (linwood’s descendant, Manager at Linwood Mill (1790’s,, married at Paisley Abbey in 1793 (Nov 9th); Maybe connected directly to James Watt through father or brother of James Watt senior)
Famous Geneologist, Hugh Peskett, has traced family to Buchahnan Clan, one of the oldest in Scotland 1016 : King Malcolm II gave a land tract to Buchanan family Clan.
The bones exhumed are the history of Scotland and go far beyond Linwood to the great inventor. The manager at Linwood Cotton Mill is proven to be my direct, great, great, great, great grandfather. Inside the solid gold choo choo train ornament, (1869) minted 100 years after the 1769 James Watt Steam engine patent is the grandson (my great great grandfather) of the Linwood Mill Manager, a tracing that combines history older than the Royals and connects Linwood family to James Watt.
At least six siblings all of Linwood are Watt relatives, one the town pharmacist from the 1700’s.
Linwood’s history is Scotland’s history! My DNA will match Linwood Mill’s, ancient manager. Fascinating.
Sincerely,
Dr. James H. Watt MD F.R.C.PC, A.B.R.
