A Renfrew travel business has won the Innovation Award at the West of Scotland Thistle Awards.
Highlands2Hammocks received the award at a ceremony at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow on Thursday, 24th September. The event was hosted by Garry Spence and organised by VisitScotland. The Times Scotland sponsored the award.
Founders Gemma and Campbell Kerr left careers in nursing and engineering to build the business. It now includes the Highlands2Hammocks travel platform, Destination Earth Guides and the Scotland Escape campervan rental business.
The awards organisers said the travel platform has 177,000 followers and Destination Earth Guides has sold more than 107,000 products. They described Highlands2Hammocks as a £1.1 million enterprise.
The couple say they originally set up Highlands2Hammocks to share their travel memories with friends and family.

Winners from the five regional Thistle Awards will compete at the national ceremony in November.
