A local man who went to claim football winnings at his local bookies was shocked to find his winnings had already been claimed.
Ross Campbell, 23, shared a photo of his winning slip on Facebook to show off his correct score win.
His excitement for the win was quickly lost when Ross went to claim the cash but someone from his friends list took a note of the barcode number from the slip and went into the bookies and claimed the win.
Ross told local newspaper, the Paisley Daily Express, that a man claimed to have lost his winning slip but noted the code and that was enough information to pay out.
His prize money was £55 after placing a wager of £5 @ odds of 10-1 on Bayern Munich to beat Manchester united 3-1.
Ross, who lives in Johnstone Castle has his Facebook photos privacy settings set to private so it’s expected he will know the person who claimed his winnings.
After complaining to William Hill and reporting the incident to the Police, he was told to contact the Gambling Commission.
After the Paisley Daily Express contacted William Hill they said they had a system in place but on this occasion they will pay out the win again.
The bet and claim was made at the William Hill on Beith Road, Johnstone.
A lost receipt claim form should have been filled out and a form of ID shown.
It appears the lost receipt claim form was not used.
