Renfrewshire’s Provost Anne Hall is delighted that her fundraising scheme has raised over £11,000 following her Hollywood-themed Charity Ball in June.
The money raised will be shared equally among the four charities – Renfrewshire Carers’ Centre, RAMH (Recovery Across Mental Health) and two hospices – Accord and St Vincent’s – chosen by Provost Hall to feature in a special charity giving scheme during her term as Provost.
Last year, Provost Hall launched the charity giving scheme with an abseil from the roof of Renfrewshire Council’s HQ in Paisley. The event raised almost £5,000.
Since then, Provost Hall has worked for her charities at the Piazza shopping centre, Paisley in December, the Phoenix car dealership, Paisley in February, local leather plant Bridge of Weir Leather in April and Glasgow Airport in May, raising £1,400 in total.
Provost Hall said: “I am delighted that so much money has been raised by the people, sponsors and workplaces of Renfrewshire.
“The charity ball was one to remember for so many people. It was a great night and fun was had by all.
“Charity will always be at the heart of our community and this was shown on the night by the generosity of everyone who attended.
“We raised just over £11,000 on the night and this money will be a great help to my chosen charities.
“I’ve also been working hard for charity with local businesses and they have kindly supported my charity fundraising with their donations.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me raise this much needed money for the charities. The generosity of these warm-hearted people is making a real difference to local charities.”
