Detectives in Paisley are investigating a robbery in Paisley on Monday.


Around 4:05pm, a man entered the Corrieri Drycleaners on Broomlands Street, Paisley and threatened a member of staff with a weapon demanding money. The man then jumped over the counter and grabbed money, making off with a three-figure sum of cash. The 57 year-old female member of staff was uninjured but she has been left badly shaken by the incident.

The suspect is described as white, between 5 ft 3 – 5 ft 5 inches in height, with a medium to stocky build and Scottish accent. He was wearing a yellow hi-visibility vest over a dark coloured top, dark trousers, white trainers and wearing a black woolly hat. He was last seen running up Broomlands Street towards Woodside Cemetery.

Officers are gathering CCTV in an effort to find out more detail on the suspect.

Detective Constable Andrew Henderson said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, perhaps you noticed the man acting a little suspiciously or perhaps you saw him running up towards the cemetery. If you have any information or knowledge, please do get in touch with us.”
