Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Paisley on Sunday night where a man was stabbed.
The incident happened around 11.30pm on Sunday 28th February 2016 involving a 23-year-old man in Heriot Way, Foxbar and involved up to ten people who had spilled from a nearby house party.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated and has since been released.
Detective Constable Laura Watt, Paisley CID, is appealing for witnesses to come forward. She said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage, however, what we understand happened is that there was a party in one of the homes in Heriot Way during which there was an altercation between a number of people, both men and women, within.
“This then spilled into the street and on to the grass area next to Heriot Primary School. This is where the man was stabbed.
“At the moment officers are checking CCTV and doing house to house to get more information.
“There has been a report that a woman, walking her dog in the area, said to neighbours that she had witnessed the stabbing. She has not come forward so I would appeal to her to get in contact with police as soon as she can as her information could prove vital to our enquiry.
“So far the response from people from the party as to what happened has been quote poor. They are more than likely know each other so I can accept that some may be reluctant to come forward. I would therefore encourage them to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.
“Information can also be passed to officers at Paisley CID via 101.”
