Police are appealing for witnesses after a 46-year-old man was seriously assaulted on Friday.
Around 10.50pm on Friday 8th April 2016, a 46 year-old man was walking with a female friend in Espedair Street in Paisley, when he was approached by the suspect and seriously assaulted.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated for a head injury then later released.
The suspect is described as around 5ft 8 inches in height and of slim build and wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and trousers.
Detective Constable Laura Durnie of Paisley Police Office said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible, and I would ask anyone who witnessed this attack happen to come forward to police.
“In particular I would like to speak to the occupants of a white Audi car that stopped to assist immediately after the incident, but who had left before emergency services arrived at the scene. Also I would ask a man and woman with a dog who also stopped to assist to come forward too. These people may have information that can assist our police investigation.”
