A man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at Glencoats Nursery in August.

On Wednesday, officers arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the alleged housebreaking and appeared today at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, based at Paisley Police Office, said: “This crime was particularly nasty due to the effects it had on a small local nursery.

“The staff rely on fundraising activities to secure items for the use of their young charges. To steal from any person is bad enough but to steal from local children is deplorable.

“I am delighted that through the dedicated work of local and specialist officers the suspect male was identified.”

Substantial damage was caused when Glencoats Nursery, Blackstoun Road, Ferguslie was broken into overnight on Monday 13th August 2018. As well as the damage, a number of electronic gadgets including computers and tablets, along with some cash, was stolen.
