Detectives in Paisley are appealing for information after a house was broken into on Friday afternoon.

Police were called after a man was spotted breaking into a property in Glenapp Avenue, Paisley around 2.20pm.

The man escaped before officers arrived and got into a dark coloured car which then made off at speed towards Glenapp Drive.

The suspect is described as white, around 6ft of slim build and in his 20s. He was wearing a black hoodie and black jogging bottoms.

A spokesperson from Paisley CID, said: “We are still working to establish the circumstances of this crime and get more information on the person responsible. We have been speaking to people in the area and officers are continuing to study CCTV footage.

“At this time I would ask any witnesses that may have information that may assist our investigation to contact Paisley Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 2015 of Friday 30th November 2018. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
