A car as has been deliberately set on fire in Paisley in the early hours of this morning.
Shortly after midnight emergency service were called to Castle Street after a man was seen setting a Peugeot car on fire before making off on foot down the street and onto Argyle Street.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and nobody was injured.
The man is described as white, of slim build and was wearing dark clothing with the hood up.
Detective Sergeant Euan McMillan, Paisley CID, said: “Setting fires deliberately is extremely dangerous and reckless, it is fortunate that nobody was injured.
“We are currently checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries to trace the person responsible, however we are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward.
“Think back, were you woken during the night, or may have been out in your car in the area. Did you hear something, or could you have dash-cam footage that could help us?
