Members of Paisley & District University of the Third Age (U3A) have recently enjoyed a spring horticultural field trip to Cambo Country House and Estate near Kingsbarn in Fife.
The visit included both an indoor tour of the Category B listed building plus an outdoor tour of Cambo’s historic gardens containing over 300 varieties of snowdrops.
U3A chair, Kathleen O’Donnell told Renfrewshire News: “We were privileged to meet Cambo Country House and Estate owner, Sir Peter Erskine. He conducted the tour himself and we learned a great deal about its Georgian architecture. Outside in the grounds, it was fascinating to see so many varieties of snowdrop. The walled gardens are really beautiful and we might just venture back here in the summer!”
Paisley & District U3A regularly holds monthly meetings. The next is on Thursday 2 May when guest speaker John Walker will talk about the Cambridge spies who gave secrets to the Russians during World War 2:https://u3asites.org.uk/paisley/welcome
