Police Scotland have launched an appeal for witnesses after two women were injured following a road crash in Kilmacolm on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man was driving a Valta tractor on Lochwinnoch Road, Kilmacolm, when it struck a 43 year-old woman. The woman’s friend, a 29 year-old woman, was also injured during the incident.

Police and ambulance attended the incident at around 11.15am on Sunday morning.

The 43-year-old woman is receiving treatment for head and leg injuries at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Hospital staff describe her condition as critical but stable. The 29-year-old woman was treated for her injuries then later released.

Sergeant Mark McGowan is continuing his enquiries into the cause of the crash and is appealing to any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact his office. He would also like to hear from any drivers with dash-cam footage that were driving along that road around the time of the crash, as they may hold information that will assist this investigation.
