SNP councillors Will Mylet, Kenny and Mags MacLaren have donated their passes to the guest viewing area of tomorrows Council fireworks display to looked-after children in Renfrewshire.
Councillors receive up to four passes for the guest viewing area each year. This year however, Cllrs Kenny and Mags MacLaren along with Cllr Will Mylet decided to donate their guest passes to some of the children looked-after by Renfrewshire Council.
The passes have been given to officers within the children’s social work department who will decide which individual children receive them.

Councillor Kenny MacLaren, said: “The council run fireworks display is usually a great event attracting thousands to the town centre. However, this year we took the decision together to hand over our passes to some of the many looked-after children within Renfrewshire.
Councillor Will Mylet, added: “Although the fireworks display organised by the council is a great event, we thought it would be better to give our tickets to some of the children who are looked after by the council. Last year I donated the passes to a local charity within my ward but this time we’ve got together to help looked-after children.
“It may just be a one-off event but if it can give a lift to some of the looked-after children within Renfrewshire then it is worth doing.”
