A national housebuilder has made a donation to Kilbarchan Amateur Athletic Club.

The donation provided by Taylor Wimpey will go towards its fundraising drive to provide a new indoor athletics and community facility.

Kilbarchan Amateur Athletic Club was founded in 1921 and boasts 710 members and 38 coaches who are based at Linwood Sports Complex. It is a centre of excellence for athletics, including
athletes with disabilities, in the west of Scotland and it’s new indoor athletics and community facility aims to meet the inherent demand by runners, provide an enhanced capacity for athletes and other activities and become a 7-day a week operation.

John Rodger, Finance Convenor of Kilbarchan AAC, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey. We can’t thank them enough for their generous donation to provide £1,000 towards our new facility. On behalf of everyone at Kilbarchan AAC, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Taylor Wimpey.”

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to be involved in such a key local club that supports so many athletes of all levels of ability in the Linwood area. The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us.”

Taylor Wimpey’s donation to Kilbarchan AAC is one of the many recent contributions being made in Renfrewshire by the housebuilder towards community facilities and infrastructure.
