Police Scotland have made an appeal for information after a road crash in the Thornhill area of Johnstone on Friday.

A 75-year-old man was crossing the road when he was struck by a Mercedes car being driven by a 60 year-old man at around 4.35pm on Friday afternoon.

Police and ambulance attended and the pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Constable Steven Kirkwood based at Renfrew Police Office is appealing for information. He said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone who was driving on the road at the time who has dash-cam to contact us, as they may have information that will assist our ongoing investigation.

“Information can be passed to Renfrew Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 2434 of Friday, 20 March.”
