Renfrewshire Council has blocked access to Robertson Car Park in Gleniffer Braes after a string of complaints about vehicles filling up the car park.

In some areas, people have been ignoring the government’s social distancing rules about staying at home in the fight against coronavirus.

Councillor Stephen Burns and Cllr Cameron, whose ward covers Paisley South West, have received complaints regarding traffic at the popular Gleniffer Braes Robertson Car Park.

In some cases drivers have been moving cones that have been placed at the entrance to block access the car park.

Councillor Burns, who has been in touch with the Council Wardens to patrol the area more frequently, said: ”This is irresponsible [moving cones and safety bars] and going out to parks that are already closed. This is nothing more than putting lives at risk during this lock down.’

Councillors Burns and Cameron call for the community to unite at this time to follow NHS advice and stay at home.
