A nightclub event for over 30s will launch in Paisley later this month, however, there is a twist – it will begin in the afternoon and end in early evening.

The upcoming event is aimed at people of, erm, how do I put it – a certain age, those who are over 30! So far, the events at Vienna‘s sister clubs in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh have been a sell-out.

Vienna’s & Blur in New Street Paisley normally closes at 3am but this new style of clubbing will see the doors open at 2.30pm and close at 7.30pm.

Disco Days Vs Dance Days will be coming to Vienna’s & Blur on 30th March and it’s strictly for the over 30s.

With it ending at 7.30pm, there’s no need to worry about overnight babysitters or being unable to get transport home. You could be up the road in time for Casualty or be tucked up in bed sipping a wee cup of tea by 9pm.

The event will be split over two rooms, Disco Days in Blur will see a mix of 70s and 80s hits such as Queen, ABBA, Donna Summer, Motown, Pet Shop Boys, Billy Joel, Boney M, and more.

Dance Days will be dropping all the floor-filling hits from the 90s and 00s, on Vienna’s floor, such as Castle in the Sky, Insomnia, Show Me Love, Ride on Time, Disco 2000 and many more.

Daytime clubbing has been sweeping the UK.

Owners of businesses surrounding the hosting venues in each of the cities where the events have already been held have noticed an upturn in trade from revellers who would not normally visit the area.

Across the UK, the daytime clubbing craze aimed at over 30s has been growing fast. Newcastle, for example, thought to be one of pioneers in this group, now has several venues that offer weekly Saturday clubbing events from 3pm to 8pm. The number of daytime clubs is close to matching the same amount of events available for the traditional target group of late teens to early 20s.

Stephen Adams, Vienna’s nightclub manager: “We’re really excited about this event, having seen the success of Disco Days at various venues around the country, Renfrewshire is in for an amazing treat.

“With all the great disco hits from the 70s and 80s in Blur, and all the tracks we remember from clubs like Mannequins, the Institute, Carnegie’s and Fury Murray’s in the 90s, playing in Vienna’s, it’s going to be a real throwback to what was the defining era of clubbing.

“We also hope it reconnects people who were clubbing back then, maybe lost touch, or don’t get the chance to get out as much; with it being a daytime event, you won’t have to worry about getting a taxi home, overnight babysitters or losing half your Sunday with tiredness.

“It’s going to be an amazing day, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone.”
