Police Scotland detectives in Paisley have launched an investigation after the assault of an 18-year-old woman in Paisley this morning.

The woman was walking through Moredun playing fields at Gleniffer Road, near to Donaldswood Road, at around 2am when she was attacked by a man who approached her.

The woman was left distressed by this attack, however, she did not require hospital treatment.

The man responsible is described as white, around 5ft 8ins in height, and of skinny build. He was wearing light grey clothing.

Detective Sergeant Craig Anderson said: “Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing.

“I’d appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw a man acting suspiciously or matching the description given, to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone with dashcam or personal footage to check it in case it holds anything relevant.

“If you have any information at all, no matter how small you think the detail might be, please contact us and let us determine that. Your information could be essential to this inquiry.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact 101 quoting reference number 0510 of 1 April. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
