Kilbarchan Amateur Athletic Club (Kilbarchan AAC) have taken part in a friendly meet with Inverclyde Athletic Club (Inverclyde AC).

U11 and U13 athletes from both clubs – twenty-four in total – met at Tower Hill Park in Gourock for a junior cross country match.

There were strong performances across the board, with standout runs from Brodie Lang, Noah Khouly, Angus Farley, Zara Lang and Skye Williams.

Colin May from Kilbarchan AAC said: “It was a brilliant effort from every single athlete who pulled on the vest today.

“A massive thank you to Janice and Alan at Inverclyde AC for organising a brilliant event and putting on such a great morning for grassroots athletics.”

Next up is the return match on Saturday 29th November at Cardell Road Park in Foxbar, Paisley. Races include U9 (880m), U11 (1200m) and U13 (2400m).

Kilbarchan ACC, founded in 1919 and based in Linwood, is a volunteer-run community club with athletes of all ages and abilities. Members train on the town’s all-weather track and compete in cross country, road running, hill running and track and field. The club also helps stage key local events, including the George Cummings Relay, the Trust Inn Trophy and annual schools cross country races.
