The cost of dropping off passengers at Glasgow Airport express pick-up and drop-off points is set to rise from tomorrow, with drivers paying £7 for up to 15 minutes.
The change represents a £1 increase. Once the 15-minute period ends, drivers will then be charged an additional £1 per minute.
Airport operator AGS Airports said the decision was made due to rising operating costs, adding that the additional revenue could help support long-term competitiveness and attract new routes.
A spokesperson for Glasgow Airport said: “Due to increases in our cost base, we have taken the decision to increase our Pick Up and Drop Off charges. “We appreciate that this is not a popular decision; however, it is important that the airport remains competitive, and all money raised serves to strengthen our connectivity and help to attract new routes.
“This will be set at £7 for 15 minutes, representing an increase of £1 from February 3, 2026. It is important to keep in mind that there is always a free alternative where customers can park for up to one hour.
“This is located in our long stay car park, and passengers can use a free, on-demand shuttle service to and from the terminal.
“The pick-up and drop-off area is intended for short visits of up to 15 minutes only. We would encourage anyone who thinks they may be longer to use the free alternative or our short-stay car park. “Valid Blue Badge holders continue to receive 30 minutes free in our multi-storey car park.”
How to get dropped off at the airport for free?
Drivers who don’t want to pay the express drop-off charge can still get passengers to the terminal without cost. Glasgow Airport offers a free long-stay pick-up and drop-off option, where cars can be parked free of charge for up to one hour in the Long Stay car park. From there, passengers can either walk to the terminal or use a free shuttle bus service running regularly between the car park and the terminal.
The airport’s express pick-up and drop-off areas directly outside the terminal are intended for short stays only and are the areas charged £7 for up to 15 minutes. Using the free long-stay car park allows drivers and passengers more time without entering the paid zone, making it a practical option for those who may need longer.
Blue Badge holders also have a separate concession. They can use the Terminal Multi-Storey car park opposite the terminal and receive 30 minutes free for pick-up and drop-off, provided a valid Blue Badge is displayed or presented at the exit.
