Christmas is in full swing at Braehead Shopping Centre, with a packed programme of festive events, late-night shopping and family entertainment running throughout December and into the New Year.
One of the highlights comes on Friday 19th December, when the centre hosts Dance Around the Christmas Tree in the Central Atrium from 3pm to 8pm. The charity event, in aid of Cash For Kids, will feature a festive DJ playing Christmas classics, a 360-degree photobooth for seasonal snaps, giveaways, confetti cannons and more.
Families visiting Braehead this Christmas can also enjoy a range of immersive attractions and seasonal installations. From 20th December 2025 to 6th January 2026, the Electric Christmas Glow Room will open in the lower food mall, offering a music-synchronised lighting experience designed as a festive photo moment. Entry is by a suggested £3 donation, with all proceeds going to Cash For Kids.
Shoppers will also notice brand new decorations across the mall this year, including a traditional Christmas tree created in partnership with local charity ACCORD Hospice.
For those still hunting for last-minute gifts, Braehead has extended its opening hours for the festive period. The centre is opening earlier from 9am daily, staying open until 8pm on weekends, with late-night shopping until 10pm from 14th to 19th December, and until 11pm on 22nd and 23rd December. Full festive opening hours are available at braehead.co.uk/festive-opening-hours.
Festive fun continues on the ice at Braehead Ice Centre, which is hosting The Big Christmas Skate throughout December. Themed 90-minute skating sessions include Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Christmas Jumper Skate, Grinchmas on Ice and Skate with Santa, with a special Christmas Eve session rounding off the celebrations. Tickets cost £12 including skate hire, and children under five go free.
Ashley Bisland, Centre Director at Braehead Shopping Centre, said: “We always aim to make the customer experience as magical as possible for our community and beyond – especially during this time of the year. From our new decorations to a packed line-up of festive fun, there’s something to enjoy during every visit.
“In addition, the festive season is the perfect time to show our support to local charities and community groups and we’ve already had some incredible performances from talented local schools, choirs and dance groups to not only bring the festive cheer but also raise vital funds towards great causes. This Christmas, we’ve supported Renfrewshire’s Provost, Lorraine Cameron and Renfrewshire Council Children’s Services with a pyjama appeal to make a meaningful difference to local families. We look forward to celebrating the very best of the season with our community.”
Visitors can also support the Pyjama Appeal by donating new pyjamas at the dedicated collection box in the Central Atrium, near JD.
