Drivers travelling to and from Renfrewshire are being warned of overnight disruption on the M8 due to essential resurfacing works near Hillington.

The work will take place on the M8 eastbound around junction 25 and is being carried out on behalf of Transport Scotland. This section of the motorway is a key route for traffic heading between Renfrewshire and Glasgow.

The resurfacing works will run from Friday 6th February to Thursday 12th February. Work will be carried out overnight each evening from 8:00 pm until 6:00 am.

During these hours, the M8 eastbound will be closed between junctions 24 and 26. A number of eastbound slip roads will also be closed overnight, including slips at junctions 25, 25A and 26.

Drivers will be diverted off the motorway and directed along signed routes through Hillington and surrounding areas before rejoining the M8 further east. Emergency service access will be maintained throughout the works.

Transport Scotland said the resurfacing is necessary to improve the condition of the road and ensure the route remains safe for daily use.

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys and follow diversion signs while the works are in place.
