Stannah employees at the company’s Hillington branch have raised £1,612 for Renfrewshire-based ACCORD Hospice as part of a 4,000-mile charity cycling challenge.
Staff at the Glasgow service branch of Stannah Lifts Distribution and Service cycled 630 miles on an indoor exercise bike as part of the company-wide challenge.
The team initially raised £806 for ACCORD Hospice, with Stannah match funding bringing the total to £1,612.
More than 700 Stannah employees across 11 service branches are taking part in the challenge. Together, they aim to cycle 4,000 miles, representing a full lap of Britain.
ACCORD Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, emotional support and bereavement services to people across Renfrewshire.
David Ferguson, Branch Manager at Stannah Lift Services in Glasgow, nominated the hospice as the branch’s chosen charity.
He said: “Two of my close family members have received palliative care from Accord Hospice. The compassion, professionalism and understanding shown by ACCORD Hospice and its staff have been second to none and certainly lightened the load all family members were feeling. By raising funds for Accord Hospice, we can help ensure these essential services continue to be available to those who need them most.”

Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron and council officer John Russell visited the branch at Hillington Industrial Estate to show their support.
Provost Cameron said: “It is a privilege to congratulate everyone taking part in the Stannah 4K Ride and to celebrate their commitment to supporting such an outstanding local charity. By choosing to donate the proceeds to ACCORD Hospice, they are making a real difference to people and families across Renfrewshire during some of life’s most challenging moments.
“This initiative is a wonderful example of community spirit in action. It brings people together through fun, fitness and generosity, while raising vital funds for a cause that means so much to our communities. I would like to thank everyone involved—from the organisers and participants to those who have sponsored and supported the event. The exercise bike will now travel to Stannah’s Gateshead branch, where employees will have two weeks to complete their mileage target and raise money for a local charity before it moves to the next location.
