Police Scotland are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in an attempted murder in Paisley.

The attack happened at around 4.45pm on Thursday on Murray Street, near the junction with Greenhills Road.

Two men, dressed in dark clothes and riding electric bikes, approached a 36-year-old man and assaulted him before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Stephen Solomon said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around this time to contact us.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything. In addition, there may have been passing vehicles with dash-cam footage so I would urge anyone that can assist to please come forward.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2618 of 19 June, 2025. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
