Renfrewshire Toy Bank is asking the public for urgent help this Christmas as the charity faces its highest-ever level of demand.

The organisation, which provides Christmas gift packages for children across the area, says more than 1,500 youngsters are currently waiting for referrals to be completed. Volunteers say they have never seen need at this level and are appealing for support from the community.

The charity is asking for donations of any size, explaining that every contribution helps ensure a child in Renfrewshire wakes up to something special on Christmas morning. People can donate online, drop off gifts at collection points listed on the Toy Bank’s Facebook page, share the appeal with others, or organise a small collection at their workplace or group.

Links to the charity’s Amazon wishlist and PayPal page are available on their social media, along with bank details for anyone wishing to donate directly.

The Toy Bank said it was grateful for the kindness shown each year and stressed that help is needed “now more than ever” to support local children this festive season.
