Buzzworks, which owns The Coach House on Main Street, has confirmed an increase in revenue over the past year while continuing to invest in its venues and workforce across Scotland.

The hospitality group reported that it continued to trade strongly despite challenging conditions for the sector, including rising energy costs, labour pressures and non-domestic rates. The update points to ongoing stability for its existing venues, including The Coach House, which is a long-established part of Bridge of Weir’s village centre.

Buzzworks said it invested significantly across its estate during the year, focusing on new openings, refurbishments and continued support for staff training and development. The business says investment in people remains central to its approach, with an emphasis on succession planning and strengthening teams at venue level.

In 2025, the company completed a family management buyout, securing new backing to support future growth while reinforcing the existing business. Buzzworks says the investment will allow it to enhance current venues and prepare for further expansion, while continuing to support the communities in which it operates.

Commenting on the year, Buzzworks managing director Kenny Blair said: “Growing revenue in the current business climate is a real credit to our teams and to the loyalty of our guests. We’ve continued to trade strongly while absorbing significant cost pressures.

“We’re operating against a tough backdrop in Scotland, from energy and labour increases to a non-domestic rates system that can disproportionately penalise hospitality businesses when they invest.

“Hospitality is a major economic contributor, supporting jobs, supply chains and thriving town centres. We want to strengthen the fabric of Scottish hospitality overall and help make our country an even better place to visit. To do this, we urgently need a rates approach that properly recognises that value and supports investment in our industry, rather than holding it back as it currently does.

“Looking ahead, the investment from Alchemy Partners is a major catalyst for our next phase. This inward investment into Scotland gives us the backing to move further, faster, enhancing our estate, strengthening our platform and accelerating expansion, including venues with accommodation.”

Alongside financial performance, Buzzworks received national recognition during the year, including being named the UK’s Best Managed Pub Company and becoming Scotland’s first multi-venue hospitality business to achieve B Corp certification, reflecting its approach to social and environmental responsibility.

Buzzworks operates more than 20 venues across Scotland and employs over 800 people, with The Coach House continuing to serve as a key hospitality venue for residents and visitors in Bridge of Weir.
