A 67-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbance in Paisley.

Police were called around 7.05pm on Monday, 2nd March 2026, to a report of a man seriously injured at a property on Blackstoun Road.

Specialist officers, including firearms officers, attended as a precaution.

A 66-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The injuries are believed to have been caused by a stabbing. His condition has been described as stable.

A man, thought to have been the suspect, then barricaded himself inside a property in the Westwood Gardens area.

He remained there from around 7.15pm until around 6am on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, when he was traced and arrested.

Officers confirm enquiries are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Iain Farmer said: “I understand this was a concerning incident for the local community, however I would like to offer reassurance that there was no risk to the wider public and we are treating this as targeted.

“I’d like to thank the public for their patience and assistance while we attended.”
