Detectives are appealing for information after an attempted robbery at a newsagents in Paisley.
The incident happened around 9.55pm on Friday 3rd April 2026 at a premises on Glasgow Road.
A man entered the shop and demanded money from the till while threatening the shopkeeper with a knife. No one was injured, however the member of staff was left shaken.
Nothing was stolen and the suspect made off from the area, heading west along Glasgow Road.
He is described as white, around 5ft 8in, of medium build, and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a face covering and all dark clothing.
Detective Sergeant Kenny McLachlan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of this incident and tracing the person responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and witnessed what happened to please contact us.
“In addition, we are asking members of the public to check CCTV and dash-cam footage as this may hold something relevant.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 3545 of 3 April, 2026.”
