A man has died after being found injured on a pavement in Johnstone.

Police Scotland said officers were called to the area near Thornside Road at around 8.55pm on Saturday, 16th May.

Emergency services attended and the 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He died a short time later.

Police said the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55pm on Saturday, 16 May, we received a report of a man injured on a footpath near Thornside Road in Johnstone.

“Emergency services attended and the 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital where he died a short time later.

“His family are aware.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
