A 51-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Paisley, and police are appealing for information.

The incident happened around 2.30pm on Saturday, 18th July 2026, in the Blackstoun Oval area of the town.

Police Scotland said the 51-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Gillian Berry said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Please check any private CCTV you have and let us know if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation.

“If you were driving in the area around the time of the incident please also check dash-cam footage and contact officers if there is anything that might help.”
