The 2026/27 West of Scotland Football League season gets under way on Saturday, 25th July, with promoted Renfrewshire sides Thorn Athletic and Glenvale both beginning their campaigns away from home.
Thorn Athletic travel to Somervell Park to face Cambuslang Rangers in the First Division. Kick-off is at 2pm.
Glenvale also start away from home as they take on Saltcoats Victoria at Ferguslie Park in the Third Division. Kick-off is also at 2pm.
Thorn will be looking to continue their remarkable rise after securing back-to-back promotions since joining the West of Scotland Football League. The Johnstone club won promotion to the Second Division after finishing top of the Third Division last season.
Glenvale also celebrated promotion after earning a place in the Third Division following the league’s end-of-season restructuring.
The new campaign will begin without Paisley club St Peter’s, who withdrew from the West of Scotland Football League after being told their local ground-sharing agreement at New Western Park, the home of Renfrew FC, would be coming to an end.
St Peter’s, which was formed in 1984, joined the West of Scotland Football League following the restructuring of lower league football in Scotland in 2020. The club narrowly missed promotion last season, finishing tenth in the Fourth Division after nine teams were promoted during the league’s realignment.
The West of Scotland Football League season begins this weekend across the Premier, First, Second, Third and Fourth divisions.
