Thousands turned out in Paisley town centre as Paisley Halloween Festival returned for the first night of its two-day programme.

Families and visitors enjoyed light displays, music and street theatre at the free event on Friday, 23rd October.

The Halloween parade brought this year’s Haunted House theme to life. Crowds lined the streets to watch hundreds of professional and local community performers make their way through the town centre.

Monster installations and lighting displays also featured on some of the town’s best-known buildings.

The festival is delivered by Renfrewshire Council’s events team in partnership with performance specialists Cirque Bijou and lighting experts Woodroffe Bassett Design.

The second night is due to take place on Saturday, 24th October. Renfrewshire Council said organisers are monitoring forecasts closely, with an amber weather warning for wind in place for Saturday evening.

An update on Saturday’s programme will be provided on Saturday morning.
