StreetVelodrome – the world’s only pop-up cycling event – is on its way back to Paisley after a successful debut last year.

Expect high-speed thrills as riders race against the clock and each other in the velodrome in County Square.
Amateur riders can pre-register to race and be coached by professionals including Glasgow 2014 Team Scotland rider John Paul before taking to the track to compete for a place in the televised grand final.
There will be the chance to sign up on the day but be aware places will be on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be a session for local community groups.
Timetable is as follows:

The council will be laying on a day of sport-themed family fun in the town centre throughout the day – attractions will include bubble football, unicycle stunts, street athletics, a smoothie bike, Paisley Farmers’ Market.
That includes free outdoor spin classes every half-hour from 10.30am to 4pm run by Renfrewshire Leisure instructor Ricky Taylor, taking place on mountain climb and time trial themes, and offering the chance for a special RL ‘yellow jersey’ for the winner.
