Police were called to a property in Renfrew after members of the public saw a man trying to break in.

Local officers were quickly on the scene and traced a 45-year-old male who was apprehended at the rear of the property.

He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday where he pled guilty to the offence.

The man was spotted during the evening of Wednesday 24th February 2016 at a property in Broadloan, Renfrew.

Local residents and members of the public are urged to report any suspicious activity to Police Scotland using 101 or 999 as appropriate.

Police Scotland said: “Thanks to the members of the public who contacted us on this occasion which resulted in a successful apprehension by local officers.”
