Police are investigating an assault in Renfrew on Thursday.
A 31-year-old woman was walking along Inchinnan Road toward the Swing Bridge in Renfrew when a man approached her and spoke to her.
Moments later, he pulled at her jacket. The woman managed to get away and ran over the Swing Bridge to seek help from a friend. She was not injured in the attack but has been left extremely upset by the event around 5.30pm on Thursday 30th June 2016.
The suspect is described as around 5ft 8 inches in height, sallow skin, aged between 16 and 18 years of age, with short dark hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and black shoes.
Enquiries so far have revealed that prior to the incident the woman noticed another person in the area and officers are appealing for this person to get in touch as it’s possible they may have seen the suspect and can provide additional information to officers.
Officers are seeking to gather any CCTV footage from in and around in order to obtain further details which could assist the investigation.
Detective Constable Jane Perratt said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact us. In particular passing motorists who were perhaps in and around the area, did you notice anything untoward or suspicious? Please do get in touch with officers and pass on any information you may have.”
