Paisley Buddies are being urged to vote for a popular garden centre to win a top national award.

For years, people from Paisley and the surrounding area have made the trip to Cardwell Garden Centre, in Gourock as part of a day out down the Clyde coast.

Now they’re being asked to vote for Cardwell after it was nominated for the best garden centre category in the inaugural Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards.

Cardwell is a family-run business and has operated for more than 50 years.

The centre’s retail manager, Paul Carmichael said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve been nominated for this award and we really appreciate the support we’ve had from visitors to our garden centre, who come from far and wide.

“If anyone has ever enjoyed a visit to Cardwell either for advice on all things gardening, to buy plants or equipment and tools, have a browse round our retailers, or even just for a nice cup of tea and a bun in our Patio Restaurant, I would urge them to vote for us in the awards.

“Help us put Cardwell on the map and win one of the ‘Oscars’ of the leisure and outdoor sector.”

People can vote online at www.outdoorleisureawards.co.uk/vote until the 30th September closing date.
