Police have arrested a man after a woman was raped in Paisley over the weekend.
A 38-year-old man is presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.
A woman was walking along Merksworth Way, Paisley, when she was approached by a man who pushed her to the ground and raped her.
After the attack, she managed to get help from the residents of a nearby house and police were called.
The 40-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where she was treated and has since been released.
The assault happened around 2.20am on Sunday 27th November 2016.
