Police have made arrests in Paisley after a spate of break-ins throughout the Renfrewshire area.
Plainclothes officers have been deployed to patrol the local area, supported by uniformed officers, to help with the increasing house and garden shed break-ins.
As a result of this targeted approach, Police have confirmed three people were arrested within a 24 hour period.
At around 1pm on Thursday 26th October officers in Paisley Town Centre area apprehended a 21-year-old male riding a bike, which appears to be stolen.
A warrant was issued that allowed officers to search the mans home address where a further two bikes were located.
Two of the bikes have been identified as being the proceeds of alleged housebreakings which occurred the previous evening within the Foxbar area of Paisley.
Enquires are continuing regarding ownership of the third bike.
At 12.30am on Friday 27th October officers were again on patrol in the Foxbar area, when they observed two people acting suspiciously, both a male and female were found to be in possession of alleged stolen property from an earlier Housebreaking in the West End Area of Paisley.
Community Policing Inspector Tracy Harkins said: “Housebreaking is a particularly invasive crime which can leave the victims feeling vulnerable within their own homes.
“I am delighted with the apprehensions and discovery of stolen property. I would continue to ask residents to be vigilant regarding their home security and to ensure that any outhouses, garden sheds or garages are locked.
“Should you see or hear anything suspicious please call 999 immediately.”
