Nurses at St. Vincent’s Hospice walk up to 10,000 steps each shift caring tirelessly for patients and families; the equivalent of 5k every shift.

They aren’t asking you to walk 5k every day, but would love you to join in and “Step Up for St. Vincent’s Hospice” on Sunday 25th March to support the incredible work of the nurses and all of the staff at St Vincent’s Hospice. The walk will be taking place at Castle Semple, Lochwinnoch, at 11am.

All proceeds from the event will go directly towards providing care and support for individuals and families around throughout the community who are affected by life limiting conditions.

It costs just £10 to sign up and is free for under 16s and there is no minimum sponsorship amount, but participants are encouraged to set a personal target.

Fundraiser at St. Vincent’s, Laura McDade, said: “We would love you to walk with us as part of Step Up for St. Vincent’s Hospice. Last year this event was extremely popular, and we predict that this year will be no different.

“A small step is a great way to start to make a difference, so why not make it a fun day out and bring along family, friends and colleagues to take part in this 10k walk? You can also take part in our shorter 5k walk, which is family friendly, buggy and wheelchair accessible. You can even bring the dog to join in the fun!”
