The effect on the environment caused by discarded plastics will be highlighted at an illustrated talk organised by the Paisley Natural History Society.
This is the first event in the society’s autumn programme of interesting and informative talks and features Dr Brian Quinn, Reader in Ecotoxicology, at the University of the West of Scotland.
People interested in natural history and the environment can hear Dr Quinn in the Wynd Centre, School Wynd, Paisley on Thursday 6th September 2018 at 7.30pm.
The event is free and members of the public are invited to come along.
Paisley Natural History Society was formed in the early 1970’s by local naturalists and is still going strong.
The aims of the society are to encourage the study of natural history in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, support the conservation of wildlife and habitats and maintain links with the Natural History department of Paisley Museum.
Regular meetings are held in Paisley on Thursday evenings during the winter months, covering a variety of natural history topics from butterflies and birds to fungi and fossils and outings are organised during the summer months visiting sites throughout Scotland.
