Renfrewshire is gearing up for a spectacular winter events season with lots of free fun for all the family.

Paisley will enjoy a special 90’s themed Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 3rd November following on from the ever-popular Halloween Festival on Saturday 27th October 2018.

The event features a 90s themed Silent Disco, arcade games, face painting and children’s arts and crafts workshops in the Town Hall during the afternoon, as well as a funfair in County Square.

Capital FM DJs will entertain the crowds with a live set before the skies above Paisley Abbey are lit up in a stunning fireworks display which starts at 7pm.

The annual Paisley Christmas Lights Switch-On will take place two weeks later on Saturday 17th November 2018.

The famous Reindeer Parade will start and finish on Paisley High Street, before Santa opens his grotto in the Paisley Centre.

There will be Christmas family fun in Paisley Town Hall with chocolate-making workshops, face painting, soft play area, craft workshops, as well as of course the chance to meet and greet with Santa.

There will be plenty of unique Christmas shopping opportunities too, with the addition of the Urban Market at Paisley Abbey.

Everyone can enjoy the Live Stage, with entertainment from Capital FM and performances from family-favourites Funbox, Princesses of Pop and X-Factor semi-finalists The Cutkelvins, before Paisley’s festive season is officially marked with the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On at 6pm.

The town centre also sees the return of the annual WinterFest event from 24 November, run by Paisley First, and featuring an outdoor ice rink, a Big Wheel and a free festive Nutcracker Trail from Saturday 17th November.

The winter event thrills will also extend across Renfrewshire with Christmas Lights Switch-Ons in Renfrew on Saturday 24th November and Johnstone on Saturday 1st December.

Renfrew will enjoy a day of festive treats and free entertainment before the big Christmas Lights Switch-On and a stunning fireworks display set against the beautiful turrets of Renfrew Town Hall.

Johnstone will have a jolly fun time in Houston Square as the twinkling town centre lights are switched on for Christmas alongside a host of free family entertainment.
