Renfrewshire Council’s Advice Works service secured more than £3 million in additional income for residents during the first quarter of 2026/27.
The service received 903 referrals and helped 718 new clients.
It supported 3,278 benefit claims and won 26 appeals.
The figures were reported to the Fairer Renfrewshire Sub-committee at its online meeting on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
Advice Works recorded £3,059,751 in financial gains for clients during the quarter. It was also managing £545,367 of debt.
Its Family Advice service received 95 new referrals and carried out 88 benefit checks.
This work secured £21,752 for families, including £11,544 in Universal Credit and £8,580 in Scottish Child Payment.
Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau’s school support service helped 55 families during the quarter, including 25 new clients.
It secured £18,083.71 for families, including £6,804 through Child Disability Payment.
The bureau’s general service received approaches from 2,882 people, with 1,163 receiving advice.
It secured £399,003 for clients and was managing total debts of more than £2.1 million.
A total of 134 clients reached a solution to their debt during the quarter.
The Stronger Start service also supported 45 pregnant women with complex needs and secured £41,459 for its clients.
