An attempt was made to break-in to James Plant Hire in Linwood in the early hours of Thursday morning.
This happened between the hours of 1.50am and 2.05am by a male dressed in dark hoody and jeans.
He was driving a small white vehicle and damage to property has been caused as a result of his attempted break-in.
Police Scotland, said: “If you were in the area and observed anyone matching this description or have dash cam footage from Bridge Street Linwood at this time please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
