Gavin Newlands, candidate for Paisley and Renfrewshire North shared the photo below on his social network channels while outside a polling booth in Renfrew.
He said: “Well that 3 hours has flown in, although my feet are like blocks of ice.
“Thanks to Labour activist Liz for the friendly chat. Remember folks, be nice to everyone, regardless of who they represent or vote for. No need whatsoever for rudeness or abuse.”

On the A737 though Johnstone, flags could be seen with the words ‘Tories out’ and ‘Save the NHS’ along a walkover. Drivers took to social media to share the sighting.
