A recycling firm who are based in Johnstone want to move their plant to Inchinnan.
Residents near WRC Recycling have had to put up with flies and strong smells from the plant.
A major fire also broke out at the plant in January last year.
Now the plans to move to Inchinnan may be blocked as over 200 objections have been lodged with the council from people staying and working near where the new plant would be.
The new plant would be next to a food factory.
The deadline for any comments or objections to the proposals is 31st May 2014.
