A man from Kilmacolm has won an award for his role in helping organise the Commonwealth Games.

Ian Reid, who is the chief financial officer at Glasgow 2014, a job he took on six years ago won the ‘Emerging Finance Director of the Year’ award at the Scottish Accountancy and Finance Awards.

Ian says he was overwhelmed to be recognised at the prestigious event at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow.
He said: “Winning was brilliant.

“I genuinely didn’t expect to get this award and I feel honoured to be recognised amongst Scotland’s finance community.

“I think it is a compliment to the team at Glasgow 2014 Ltd to be recognised in this way in a year that marks the Games that we are all working so hard to support.”
