Scottish Independence Referendum results are in and Renfrewshire voted NO.

The declaration shows that the answer to yes was 55,466 and no was 62,067.

It makes it 53% for No and 47% for Yes.

Renfrewshire’s local MP wrote for the Independent newspaper “To the 45 per cent of Scots who did not get the result they hoped for and are disappointed, indeed grieving, this morning, my message is: while we have been divided on the campaign trail, we are united in our love for our nation. Whether you voted Yes or No, the question for today and tomorrow is how to build the better Scotland we all seek.

“We are all proud Scots this morning. Now let’s move forward together.”

Supporters celebrate a "No" victory in Renfrewshire.

The total electorate in our area was 134,737. The total amount of votes cast is 117,612. Turnout was 87.3% and 79 papers were rejected.
