Police are investigating a robbery where thousands of pounds were stolen from a cash machine inside a shop in Johnstone.

Two men removed the front door shutter, smashed their way though the shop door and targeted only the cash machine.

It took the thieves around three minutes to get in and out and the CCTV shows the shop in darkness with two flash lights showing up in the footage.

The theft happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, 10th May around 1.15am at the Day-Today store in Spateston Shopping Centre.

An investigation by the police has begun and Johnstone Chief Inspector Simon Wright have appealed for help from the public.

He said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the break in to contact police with any information they may have on 101.”
