Abuse and trauma recovery services run by national charity Children 1st in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde have secured additional funding

The RS Macdonald Trust have donated £30,000 and £1,500 from the Sylvia Aitken Charitable Trust.

The money will be shared with other abuse and trauma recovery services in other locations in Scotland.

Kate Smith, director of fundraising said: “We are really grateful to the RS Macdonald charitable trust and the Sylvia Aitken Charitable Trust for this support which will help sustain these vital local services.

“The support we provide to young people who have suffered domestic, physical or sexual abuse can ensure that those experiences do not cloud the rest of their lives.”

Last year Children 1st supported more than 16,000 children, young people and parents across Scotland with 63 local services and five national services.
